IVF Worldwide

IVF-Worldwide - IVF WorldwideIVF Worldwide has grown exponentially since Louise Joy Brown was born in July 25, 1978 by becoming the first In vitro fertilization or IVF baby in the world. Nearly 40 years later there have been millions of babies born through IVF worldwide. Gestational Surrogacy has also grown a lot which in many cases accompanies IVF. The U.S. is the leader in IVF and surrogacy, but the cost to do these procedures in the U.S. exceed many people’s budget. So intended parents have looked to other countries where the treatment costs much less.

Surrogacy became very popular in India and over a decade ago and the industry exploded with growth after the Indian government formally commercialized the practice. However, the government has since banned surrogacy to foreigners. A couple can still do IVF treatment in India which is a fraction of the cost of doing it in the U.S. if the woman carries her own baby and doesn’t need a surrogate mother. The same goes for Thailand where surrogacy had once boomed. The law there states that if one intended parent is a Thai national surrogacy is permitted as long as you use a relative and do not pay her to carry your child. This is called altruistic surrogacy.

Recently, some countries in southeast Asian have become popular go to countries for In Vitro Fertilization or IVF. However, like Thailand, only altruistic surrogacy is permitted. There are currently 2 IVF clinics in the capital city of Vientiane, Laos which were opened by Thai doctors just within the past 2 years. Not only have these doctors brought financing and knowledge of IVF and surrogacy, but they have brought years of experience in the field and success rates are quite high and on average even match those rates in the U.S.

IVF Worldwide continues to grow and the surrogacy industry that it’s tied to has been growing in the Ukraine, Russia, South Africa, and Kenya. As our world grows smaller, people today can venture out of their home countries to other nations where costs are much lower and risks not as high. Depending upon an intended parents’ geographical location, any of these locations can be an ideal place to do IVF treatment with surrogacy and egg donation. Intended parents can even get a surrogate mother and/or egg donor from one location and fly her to another location to do the treatment. This has become common practice as countries in southeast Asia keep changing laws regarding surrogacy.
