Laos Fertility Treatment can be a great option for intended parents. We understand that not many western intended parents may think of Laos when researching their options for surrogacy in Asia. With India, Nepal, Thailand, and now Cambodia all banning surrogacy to foreigners, Laos seems to be the only country where one can go to do surrogacy.
The laws regarding surrogacy in Laos are still a grey area. There are no current laws banning the practice, nor are there any laws regulating it. Because of this, intended parents should consider Laos as a viable option. The country does have at least 2 modern fertility clinics. One clinic located in the capital city of Vientiane, was opened by a Thai doctor who had a very successful fertility clinic in Thailand. This is a huge advantage because Thai doctors have in depth experience with surrogacy and bring loads of experience, knowledge, learning, and modern equipment. The only real difference is you are in a country that does not ban the practice.
The costs of doing surrogacy in Laos is a fraction of what it costs of doing it in a western country such as the United States. Costs in the U.S. can exceed $200,000 and have doubled in price due the influx of Chinese customers wanting to have a baby in the U.S. so their baby can have U.S. citizenship. In fact, most fertility clinics in Los Angeles have been growing exponentially over the past couple of years due to the ban in most countries where Chinese patients traditionally went. Not everyone can afford the high prices in the U.S., so having Laos as a viable option for fertility treatment and surrogacy helps many intended parents make their dreams become a reality.
Laos is also a beautiful country with a rich history. It is traversed by the Mekong River. The small country has 6.7 million people and the topography of Laos is mountainous. One can see beautiful French colonial architecture, many hill tribe settlements, and Buddhist temples. The capital city of Laos is Vientiane. Here one can see the That Luang monument. It is believed that this monument houses the Buddha’s breastbone. There is also the Patuxai war memorial and a morning market called Talat Sao, which is a complex that is filled with clothes, food, and craft stalls. Further to the North is Luang Prabang, which means “Royal Buddha Image” in Lao language. The city is made up of 58 adjacent villages, of which 33 comprise the UNESCO Town Of Luang Prabang which is a World Heritage Site. The city was listed in 1995 for its unique and amazingly well preserved architectural, cultural heritage, and religious nature of a mix of urban and royal developments that span several centuries. This includes the French colonial influences during the 19th and 20th centuries. In the center of Luang Prabang consists of four main roads that are situated on a peninsula which joins the Nam Khan and Mekong Rivers. The city is also well known for its abundant Buddhist temples and monasteries.
So if you are considering Laos as your go to destination for fertility treatment and surrogacy, you won’t be disappointed.
