Surrogacy in Laos is a great choice over adoption. Laos Fertility knows how childless couples or single people feel. Being childless is probably one of the worst feelings in anyone’s life. However, there is an answer and that is surrogacy through our surrogacy program in Laos.
In the past when couples or single intended parents could not have a child they would turn to adoption. 2004 was the height of international adoptions in the United States. However, over the past 11 years, we have seen that number decline rapidly by as much as 50% or more. There are various reasons for this phenomenon. First, a lot of countries that were adopting children have since modernized and have built programs to help families keep their children. In some countries, a financially struggling family can keep their children at an orphanage while they get back on their feet again. They are permitted to visit with their children daily.
We have learned that countries such as Thailand and China have joined the Hague. The Hague Conference on Private International Law. This is a governmental organization made up of countries from around the world that creates treaties covering a wide variety of issues. When we talk about “The Hague” in the adoption community, we are talking about “The 1993 Hague Convention on Protection of Children & Cooperation with regards to Intercountry Adoption.” This is one of the many treaties created by The Hague Conference. The Hague Treaty regarding international adoption was developed in 1993 and has currently been ratified by over 63 countries. The goal of The Hague is to protect children and families involved in intercountry or international adoption. It provides standardized regulations for every country that ratifies it and allows for greater transparency in the adoption process. While this is great in protecting children from human trafficking, it adds a mountain of paperwork and makes it impossible for many to even adopt. For instance, if one of the couples had a medical issue, they could not adopt from a Hague nation. Additionally, the timeline for adopting a child from a Hague nation is so long that it makes it impossible for many couples to adopt. For instance, the current wait time in China to adopt is between 5 to 8 years. How many people can wait that long? Furthermore, for single or gay parents, it is completely impossible to adopt from a Hague nation.
Domestic adoption is not any better. There have been hundreds of cases of couples signing an agreement to adopt a baby from a women when she delivers. As many as 25% of all birth moms change their mind when they deliver and the joyful day quickly turns into one filled with pain and grief. Imagine waiting 9 months to get your baby only to have it taken away from you.
For these reasons, Laos Fertility wants you to explore surrogacy with us in Laos. We promise you that we will not stop until we put your baby in your arms.
